30 poetry prompts for 30 poems in 30 days during Napowrimo / Escapril 2026.
April is National Poetry Writing Month. That means it is time again to gather our creativity and challenge ourselves to write 30 poems in 30 days.
This is not a contest but merely a fun and creative challenge for all poets (even if you have never written a poem before) to play around with their creativity, write a poem every day in April, and if you feel comfortable enough, share your poem with your online poetry community. There are no rules for this. Simply pen whatever comes to mind in whatever poetry form you prefer.
It might feel daunting to find inspiration every day for 30 days, but no worries, I have you covered. I am sharing my 30 daily poetry prompts with you to spark some inspiration every day. I will even be writing alongside you, using my prompts and posting my poems on substack and Instagram. You can join me there by writing for one of the prompts, posting your poem on your page or in the comments, and tagging me so I can read your take on the prompts. You can also use #napowrimo and #coralynnpoetrypromtps to connect and engage with other poets in the poetry community on Instagram.
Every day, I will share a few poems in my notes/ stories so be sure to join me on my socials.

Poetry Prompts
Storyteller
Palms towards the sun
Braid of blue
Spoonfed
Hold only what is yours.
Skin contact
Fingerpainting the sky.
Pass poetry around
The risk of blooming
Hide inside the fire.
Palate cleanser
Pear tree
Counting feathers

Medicinal music
Words out in the wild
Apple core
Dreaming out loud
Be ordinary
Depth of growth
Soft beauty
Departure of light
Waiting to be noticed
Poetic bruise
Heirloom
Seeking somewhere to land
Gathering wonder
Fill up the silence
As far as the heart can reach

So, are you in? April is waiting, and so is your poetry. Grab a pen, pick a prompt, and let the words flow! Let’s make this NaPoWriMo unforgettable!
