Join my 25 days poetry prompt Advent Calendar for 2025! 25 Days of creative joy!
Hi everyone!
As winter draws near and the days grow darker, I have been craving a creative way to bring some extra sparks into this month. So, this December, I’m hosting something new and delightfully simple:
The Poetry Prompt Advent Calendar for 2025!
25 days. 25 daily creative prompts. One small act of creativity each day.
Every day from December 1st to December 25th, I will be posting a spark-sized poetry prompt on my Substack Notes and on Instagram. Think of them as small invitations to notice, imagine, play, and write without any pressure. There are no strict rules for you to follow, just a chance to slow down and show up for your own creative joy. I will add various creative prompts to give you that surprise feeling every day. For example, picture prompts, poetry form prompts, word prompts, creative writing prompts, and so much more. All will be themed for winter and Christmas.
Why an Advent?
Because December is already a countdown, if not towards Christmas, then to the end of the year. And why not count down with something that feeds our creativity rather than drains it? Poetry is a way of standing still in the chaos of the holidays and just taking that moment to nurture something that brings us joy. See it as a small gift you can offer yourself. A spark of creativity in the dark. A stillness in the chaos. Because we so often forget ourselves during the holidays.

How can you participate?
As I mentioned before, there are no strict rules for these prompts. Just a spark-sized surprise for your own creative joy. So, how can you join? Easy!
Check my notes on Substack or my Instagram, for the daily prompt. I’ll be publishing one every day from the 1st to the 25th. I will make it visually noticeable, so you don’t have to go searching for it too much.
Write whatever comes to mind when reading or seeing the prompt. If it does not require a certain form (like a haiku, or a six-word story, ..), then let those words pour freely onto the page.
Share (optional)! You can post your poem in the replies, post them on your own profile and tag me, or even just keep them to yourself. Whatever feels right for you. This is all about the joy of writing.
You can find my Substack and Instagram through these link!
If you don’t want to miss a daily prompt, consider subscribing or giving me a follow. I host all sorts of creative moments on my profile (monthly prompts and writer’s lifts).
Let me know in the comments if you plan on writing for the Poetry Advent. I would love to know who’s writing with me this month.
I will also be sharing a weekly post on Substack with some of my own takes on these prompts, for those curious to read how I interpreted them.
Let’s make December a month filled with words, wonders, and warm, creative light!
The first prompt will be posted on December 1st on my Substack and Instagram! Can’t wait to see what you create!
All my love,
from my heart to yours.
